Hubby had a 4-Day weekend thanks to President’s day so I will just claim that weekend as my weekend length too for the purposes of this post. (it makes me fee like I accomplished a lot if I do)
Friday was Valentines Day and nothing special to us. Roxanne got a Valentine though!! I’ve never been a big fan of that holiday anyway. It isn’t special. I’d rather have a random flower on a random day of the year. I sure as hell don’t need the candy to whisper sweet things into my ears and then upset my belly. I went to CrossFit at noon where I suffered through the Hero WOD called “Loredo”. We ate lunch, went and shared an ice cream, and then grocery shopped. Before I knew it, it was time for dinner and to take a nap before work at midnight until 4pm.
Saturday after work, I headed straight for the gym to run my 2mi without excuses. It was easy to come up with a plethora of reasons why I shouldn’t…. but it’s time to start my marathon training…. . AND I didn’t cave for Starbucks right next door. Came home to a simple and delicious grilled turkey burger asparagus and sweet potato salad. Then I stayed up as long as I could force my eyes to stay open.
Sunday was a food prep day and I had to fit in a 4mi run. Hubby was cleaning the cars inside and out (I’ll just pretend like my car doesn’t smell like wet dog since he used the shop vac that he also uses to dry the dog after a bath. haha). I made a Paleo breakfast casserole (delicious. I had it for breakfast this morning) and poached chicken for Fajita Chicken Soup. I also sauteed up some kale with bacon and onion. I did numerous other chores around the house too. Then I finally left to knock out my 4 miles on the treadmill in order to force myself to pace them (9:12/mi). I returned home after I ran and stretched. Dinner was a perfectly cooked steak dinner. Mmmmm….. I showered and left for 12 hours of work WITHOUT A NAP!!! **GASP**…. Yeah, that bit me in the ass. I didn’t get sleep. It was a busy night as a dispatcher in Lee County, Alabama. I did manage a nap (finally) at 5am.
Monday’s plan was noon CrossFit and XT (cross training) at 5pm with some more food prepping in between… I got home at 945am and collapsed into a mini coma. Got up at 130 (PLAN RUINED) to the amazing smell of Fajita Chicken Soup (1 point hubby!). I moved on to Spicy Sausage and Sweet Potato soup. I stopped there because it was time to get my sweat on. I went to the gym to XT for 40 minutes and I chose incline walking. I stretched well afterwards and headed over to Crossfit Inception, a box in the area (that i’ve never been to), since they were the ones offering a 5pm WOD and boy was it a doozie….
25 min EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute)
-30secs DL 155/105# (I did 95#)
-30secs DU’s (I did single jump roping)
-30secs Box Jumps 24″/20″
-30secs C2B pull ups (I used a band)
I swear they could mop the floor with my sweat. I crawled home feeling good about myself and then ate a banana with a small glass of milk to tie
me over until hubby finished dinner (bacon and cilantro chicken with cauliflower mix and sweet potato salad). I didn’t worry with (or ask hubby) to make the other thing I had originally planned to prep for the week because there is no room in the fridge. 🙂 That’s the kind of problem I like to have! 😉
Sounds like a busy weekend! I didn’t get to have a four day weekend but instead a three day weekend which was great!! The weather sucked but that’s typical for February! Those are some fun socks and that incline workout looks intense!
I don’t think we can actually count mine as a 4 day weekend…. I worked 28 hours. haha. February is the worst as far as weather is concerned. Spring is just around the corner! 😉 Thanks! I have an obsession with fun socks. You should give it a go. It’s not too tremendously intense… okay well it’s kinda bad, but they get worse.
Wow that EMOM looks killer. Sweet potato salad looks good too!!!
give that EMOM a go Corrie Anne, if you don’t make a sweat angel at the end of that one, you did something wrong. lol. And while you’re at it, give that sweet potato salad a go. 🙂 thanks for reading and commenting!
